The Friday before Thanksgiving, volunteers pack 500 bags of fixings that will provide a complete Thanksgiving meal including sweet potatoes, stuffing, green beans, and other items for a family of one person or many people. The “conga line” approach enables the task to be accomplished quickly, while getting to know fellow volunteers. The bags of food are distributed the week of Thanksgiving to clients of the Center and are much appreciated.
Christmas dinner is packed into bags for 500 families to share with their loved ones. Volunteers once again line up to take a bag through the line to be filled with potatoes, canned vegetables, cranberries, fresh carrots, and other available foods for Christmas dinner. Some volunteers wrap Christmas gifts for children. Every child in a client family will be assured of being able to open at least one gift on Christmas morning provided by generous supporters of the Center. A great way to celebrate the best gift of all.
