“Stirring Up Hope” provides an opportunity for neighbors to get to know each other or reconnect with neighbors and friends thus making the neighborhood stronger through relationships.
After our morning devotion and prayer, volunteers will gather at 10 am to ready our soup station serve a delicious bowl of soup made by Edwins Restaurant. If your church or organization would like to help by serving on a Wednesday, contact Diane at (216)631-6434 to schedule your spot on the calendar.
Old Stone Church and EDWINS Leadership & Restaurant Institute have teamed up to bring warmth and nourishment to Clevelanders in need through a new collaborative ministry called Stirring Up Hope.
Created as a positive response to the many difficult stories dominating today’s headlines, Stirring Up Hope is rooted in a simple but powerful idea: to feed the community, alongside our partners, one kettle at a time. Each week throughout the year, EDWINS chefs will prepare large kettles of soups and stews that will be delivered to partner sites across the city like Redeemer.
The premise of this partnership is simple: every Wednesday, starting at 11 a.m., six Cleveland-based nonprofit organizations will serve EDWINS-crafted artisan soup straight from the kettle and served to anyone who desires a simple, healthy meal – no questions asked.
Stirring Up Hope is presented at a time when nearly 30% of Cleveland residents face food insecurity, which is more than double the national average, and one in four children face food insecurity (Cleveland Health Survey).
